Gorge FC v Cowichan Valley




With Gorge FC sitting atop the standings (on goal differential) after the first four matches of the season, a stern test is up next. Cowichan Valley is tied on points with an identical 4-0-0 record . Three of Cowichan's wins have been against the lower half of the table defeating Peninsula, Prospect Lake and Bays United. This week they shutout Gordon Head 3-0. They always play tough on their home pitch. In past years, it seems that Cowichan fields plenty of offensive strength, with a corresponding weakness in defence. We shall see what this year's team is made of.

Gorge FC has excelled at both ends of the pitch so far with strong defence and an offence that is coming into it's own. If we can play for a full 80 minutes with strong on-field communication, a willingness to compete for every loose ball, good movement off the ball and quality finishing, the winning run should continue. This game is for first place!
