Gorge FC christened their new turf field with an emphatic 8-0 pasting of the visting Prospect Lake Lakers. With Gorge dominating the play for long stretches, the visitors were fortunate to only be down by two goals at the break. The second half clearly showed the difference between the two sides when Gorge FC demonstrated their passing, and finishing skills with a 6 goal outburst.

Gorge pressed early and often as the attacking midfielders and strikers created numerous opportunites to score. At least 4 times a player was in position with a clear shot on goal only to put it wide or over top.
The hard work was finally rewarded with Ryan giving a nice pass to Quinn who sent Mark in alone on the keeper and he did not waste his chance. Our second goal of the half saw Russell put a corner kick into the box for Thor to finish.

The Prospect Lake team has a good work ethic and were beating us to many of the open balls. However, they were not able to penetrate the defence to any effect, and Mateusz had a relatively easy afternoon.The second half saw Gorge fix the problem and at that point the only question to be asked was what would be the final score??Ouch! Big Thor doing the business in midfield.

Hard work, good passing, dominating the midfield, solid defense and finally great finishing allowed Gorge to put 6 more past Prospect Lake.
