Coming off a bye weekend in league play, which saw Lakehill, Cowichan and Gordon Head all record wins, Gorge FC is eagerly anticipating this match. The Prospect Lake team has been merged with Cordova Bay up until this year. The splitting apart of the two associations has weakened both. Cordova Bay did not field a Gold team this year, and Prospect Lake has struggled in the start of the season, dropping their first three games. The LISA rule of only three out of district players has obviously had a great impact.
Furthering their woes, last years keeper Nick Reda transferred to Lakehill and their new keeper has already come down with injury.
For Gorge FC this will be our inaugural game on the new Kulai Turf Field. It looks like most of the boys who had been struggling with illness are fit again, and no new injuries to report.
The friendly against the U16 Gorge Gold team on Sunday was a good tune up and after starting the season 3-0-0, the boys are determined to continue the winning streak.
