Gorge FC v Bays United




This second encounter against Bays United, at home on the new turf field should settle a few things. In past years, Bays had given us problems and play was generally quite choppy. There seemed to be a distinct lack of flow, and the games were usually very close in score.

The first game this season between Gorge FC (6-1-0) and Bays United (2-0-5) ended up 3 - 0 for Gorge FC. The shots were far and away heavily weighted in Gorge's favor and the scoreline could have very easily been 7 or 8 nil. Steve came up big with a penalty save, and was tested once or twice more, but otherwise had a relatively easy game.

After starting the season with three straight shutout losses, Bays last three games have been much more productive in wins and goals. Two wins, against Peninsula and Prospect Lake and two goals in a 5-2 loss to Lakehill. The goals have started to go in, and we shall see how their forwards match up to our defense on Saturday.

Gorge FC is solid in every position and as the boys become more consistent in playing their strengths for a full 80 minutes, they will be hard to defeat. Couple this with a renewed focus on offense and it should be a very entertaining match.
