Gorge FC v Gordon Head



In what has become an intense rivalry, Gorge FC (5-1-0) take on Gordon Head (3-1-2) this Saturday at home on the Upper Hampton field. A scheduling quirk had seven Gorge FC teams booked for four fields at 2:15, but we were able to secure our scheduled date and time after some good work by our field scheduler.

The first meeting saw Gorge FC, on the strength of a Mark Buchanan goal in the closing minutes, take the game 1-0. The only other loss Gordon Head took in the first round was against Cowichan being shutout 3-0. As defending league and Island B Cup champions, Gordon Head will be a test every outing.

Gorge FC, after the first encounter showed that with a sustained effort and winning the battles in the midfield, we can create many chances to score. We just have to finish them off. After a strong showing up the Peninsula, Gorge FC is looking to stay undefeated as we enter the second round.
